Sharon E. Sievers, President, began her undergraduate schooling at Mount Vernon College, receiving an Associate of Arts degree. Later she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. The President of Mount Vernon College recommended her to Mr. Tonkin and she began working for the Washington Workshops Foundation in 1969. While continuing to work at the WWF, she returned to school, receiving her Master's Degree in College Student Development from the School of Education at George Washington University. In 1978 she became the director of the new junior-high seminars, soon developing it into one of the WWF's core programs. She has continued in this and multiple other capacities since, remaining an integral part of the organization and offering a great deal of stability and leadership.
